PESHAWAR: Allocation to be doubled

Published July 18, 2003

PESHAWAR, July 17: The NWFP government had allocated Rs5 million each to all the members of the NWFP Assembly during financial year 2002-2003.

Necessary guidelines to this effect were circulated among all concerned, and District Coordination Officers were asked to submit PC-Is of schemes identified by MPAs duly approved by the District Development Committees, but most of the DCOs could not submit the PC-I according to the prescribed criteria, hence the implementation of the Tameer-i-Sarhad Programme (TSP) could not be taken in hand as expected.

During the current financial year, the provincial government has allocated Rs5 million each to the MPAs for implementation of schemes under TSP. This amount is likely to be enhanced to Rs10 million per MPA during the current financial year.—APP
