15 villages, farmland inundated

THATTA, July 14: Fifteen villages and hundreds of acres of farmland have been inundated near here since Sunday when several breaches occurred at the embankments of Jerman Dhoro rain drain.

The affected villages include Haji Siddiq Shoro, Soomar Shoro, Malik Khoso, Memal Manganhar and other settlements of the Dal clan.

The worst-affected areas are located in Kohistan, Boto Makan and Kod Dehs where road links and other means of communication has been affected.

The rain drain descends from the hilly terrain of Jherruk and Ongar.

The Taluka Nazim of Thatta, Ada Mohammad, and the People’s Party Parliamentarian’s member of the Sindh Assembly, Sassui Palijo, visited the affected area and assured the villagers that they would be provided with relief.
