PESHAWAR, July 14: Three persons were killed allegedly by their rivals in Budhu Samarbagh area in Faqirabad on Sunday.

Arif Nawaz, son of Mohammad Yousaf, told Faqirabad police that his brother Imtiaz was returning home along with his companions Rashid alias Butt and Abdul Hameed alias Chany from the fields of Budhu Samarbagh area.

Three persons namely Zaman, Salman and Nasir, residents of the same area, allegedly opened fire at them. As a result Imtiaz and Rashid died instantly while Abdul Hameed passed away at the Lady Reading Hospital. The accused managed to escape after the incident.

Police have registered an FIR against the accused.

Arif Nawaz said that his brother had enmity towards the alleged killers. 

Police said that Imtiaz was wanted by them in many cases.

HASHISH  SEIZED: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) foiled an attempt to smuggle hashish to Punjab province and arrested the smuggler at Sardar Ghari on main GT Road here on Monday, a press release said.

The CID police, working on a tip-off, blocked a road at Sardar Ghari and stopped a Pajero jeep (Karachi-BC 8979). During the search the police recovered 191 packets of hashish.

Driver of the vehicle Muhammad Usman, son of Mir Zaman, a resident of Ghari Rashida near Tharnab farm, Chamkani, was arrested.

COOK HELD: The law enforcement agencies have arrested a cook at the Afghan Constitution Drafting Commission office in Peshawar for being allegedly involved in suspicious activities and shifted him to an undisclosed location for interrogation, sources told Dawn on Sunday.

Sources said that Hameed Ullah, the cook at the office of Afghan Constitution Drafting Commission was arrested from Kacha Ghari refugee camp.

ARREST: Faqirabad police arrested a constable Abdullah on the charges of committing robberies in the city on Sunday.

Sources said that a few days ago some bandits were arrested, who during the interrogation disclosed the name of constable Abdulllah as their accomplice. Abdullah had committed robberies and was involved in the incidents of snatching money from people in police uniform.

Meanwhile, the university town police on Sunday arrested a proclaimed offender Madad Khan, son of Bacha Khan, a resident of Palosi. He was accused of killing three persons of his uncle’s family living in the same area.

MURDER:  A young man was killed allegedly by his cousin, who escaped after the incident in Choha Gujjar area of Chamkani, a police official said.

Sameen Khan told Chamkani police that his son Sarfaraz had left home along with his cousin Javed the other day and never returned. On Sunday Sarfaraz’s body was found from Javed’s house, who escaped after the alleged murder.
