WANA, July 13: Three bandits and a man kidnapped for ransom were killed near Maichan Baba shrine here late Saturday night.

Noor Mohammad had come from Bannu to attend the annual Urs of Maichan Baba, but was abducted for ransom by four kidnappers and locked in a room at their hideout.

The kidnap victim somehow untied himself and grabbed a gun from one of the kidnappers sleeping next to him and opened fire, whereas the other bandits retaliated killing Noor Mohammad and fled. Upon hearing the fire, villagers encountered the bandits killing two of them and overpowered the fourth one, identified as Mohammad Farooq Abdur Rehmankhel Mahsud. He was handed over to the political administration.

The bandits killed in the shootout were identified as Badshah Hussain Shabikhel Mahsud, Ali Marjan Nazarkhel Mahsud and Abdur Raziq Naikzankhel Mahsud.

#PRISONER ESCAPES#: A prisoner, Hakim Khan, escaped from a lock-up at the Wana Scouts Camp.

The political administration had suspended from service a Khasadar Force subedar, who was on duty when the prisoners escaped.
