PESHAWAR, July 13: The residents of Nauthia area have expressed concern over the ban on their treatment in the Cantonment Board Hospital and have set a deadline of three days for revoking the decision.
They have threatened that if their demand was not fulfilled they would lock the hospital and in retaliation would also ban the burial of dead of Saddar area in the Nauthia cemetery. They also claimed that the Nazims and Naib Nazims of the four union councils of Nauthia and its adjacent areas would tender resignation if their demands were not met.
A delegation of the area headed by the MPA, Ibraheem Qasmi, Nazim of union council Nauthia, Syed Hussain Shah, Syed Iqbal Shah, Malik Bukshish and other notables, also called on the Cantonment chief executive officer on Saturday and informed him about their grievances. However, their meeting was not fruitful.
They said that it was great injustice with the inhabitants of Nauthia that they would not be provided medical treatment in the Cantonment Board Hospital. They said that after the end of the deadline they would hold demonstrations and protest processions in the entire Cantonment area.
They added that the residents would also lock the hospital and would not allow anyone to enter it. The residents, they claimed would also not allow the inhabitants of Saddar Area to bury their dead bodies in the cemetery of Nauthia area.
The residents have asked the Peshawar Corps Commander and NWFP governor to intervene into the situation and direct the cantonment executive officer to lift the arbitrary ban imposed by the cantonment board.
