Senator’s car retrieved

GUJRANWALA, July 12: Wazirabad police claimed on Saturday to have retrieved a Senator’s car, which was driven away by four highwaymen on the GT Road a week ago.

District Police Officer Saud Aziz told newsmen that Senator Dr Shahzad Wasim was on his way to Lahore from Islamabad by his car when four armed men stopped him and drove away with the vehicle near Wazirabad.

He said Wazirabad ASP Waqar Ahmad Chauhan, who was directed to find a clue to the car, raided along with his team tribal area from where he recovered the car.

KILLED: A man was stabbed to death by his cousin over a dispute at Kingerwali, Kamoki, on Saturday.

Reports said Muhammad Riaz was taking lunch at a hotel when his cousin Sajjad came there and attacked him after an exchange of harsh words. Riaz died on way to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Kamoki police have registered a case against the suspect and are investigating.
