THATTA, July 12: The Karachi blast is part of a wider conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the government and the building in which the explosion occurred belongs to Dawood Ibrahim, said the adviser to the Sindh chief minister on home affairs, Aftab Shaikh.

He said this while speaking at a press conference here on Friday.

He said that the investigation agencies had made a headway in this regard but refused to offer any details.

Mr Shaikh said that an operation against the outlaws had again been launched on the Sindh-Balochistan border on Friday.

He claimed that there was no “No Go Area” in Sindh now.

He admitted that the criminals had more sophisticated weapons and better communication systems than the Sindh police.

He stressed the need for equipping the police force with better weapons and communication facilities.

He said that the police had demanded that the Sindh government provide 110 vehicles.

The adviser said that as criminals were using Internet, particularly in illegal financial activities, there was a need to create a cyber-crime unit in the police force.
