GUJRANWALA, July 11: A raiding team of the sales tax collectorate was beaten up by factory owners and his men and harassed them with aerial firing in Kamoki on Friday.
However, the raiding team detected tax evasion worth Rs50 million and took all the record into custody.
The raiding team, headed by sales tax recovery deputy director Mehrin Nasrin, raided the ceramic factory in Chianwali, Kamoki, on the GT Road and took all the record into custody. In the meantime, the factory owners and his armed men shut the factory’s main gate and manhandled the team members.
However, they saved their lives after jumping out of the factory’s boundary wall. Later, they reported the matter to their senior officers who got registered an FIR against the factory owners and their armed men.
The police are conducting raids for the arrest of the accused.

LIFE-TERM: A local court on Friday handed down life-term on two counts and fined Rs150,000 to a convict in a dacoity-cum-murder case.
He will have to undergo six-month more hard jail if he fails to make the payment.
According to the prosecution, Mansha Masih committed dacoity in the house of constable Sabir Arain in Mota Virkan village, Naushera Virkan, and killed him on resistance on Sept 28, 1968.
RESTRAINED: A Naib Nazim of union council No 47/11 was restrained by the DCO from holding his office due to a no-trust movement against him and issued notification here on Friday.
