KARACHI, July 10: City Nazim Nematullah Khan has urged the teachers to impart religious and moral education to the students and also inform them about background of Pakistan movement and its ideology, to ensure their proper character building, so that they can become responsible citizens of an Islamic society.
He was speaking to the teachers at a certificate awarding ceremony, held at the Government Girls Comprehensive School, Block-M, North Nazimabad, on Thursday.
He informed that so far 520 teachers from various schools of the city had completed their training, which laid special emphasis on Pakistan movement, Ideology and Islamiat, under the city government.
He expressed hope that the students in the 4,500 schools and 90 colleges, which were merged in city government, would be imparted education according to the national needs.
He vowed that teachers’ training programme would be continued for the betterment of teachers.
EDO, Education, Anwaar Ahamd Zai, observed that the recent teachers’ training programme was unique in character, as this had been jointly designed by the scholars of the Islamic Research Centre, Islamabad, representatives of city government and education experts.—PPI
