Moot on Kashmir

WASHINGTON, July 9: US lawmakers and human rights lawyers are jointly hosting a two-day international conference on peace in Kashmir, organizers said on Wednesday.

They are hoping that the conference’s theme, ‘Beyond the Blame Game, grounds for Peace and Justice,’ will help start a move towards restoring peace to a region, which has suffered tremendously during the last 56 years.

Congressman Joseph Pitts, a Republican, and Senator Tom Harkins, a Democrat, will hold the conference with the Association of Humanitarian Lawyers and the Kashmiri American Council. It begins at Capitol Hill on July 24.—Correspondent
