SWABI, July 9: Doctors have asked health officials to initiate preventive measures to stem the spread of malaria in the region.

From June 2002 to May 2003 about 1,000 cases of malaria, mostly from the mountainous belt of Gadoon, were reported, a health official told Dawn here on Tuesday.
