LARKANA, July 9: The EDO (health) has asked the blood banks in the district to get themselves registered with the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority and stop the sale of blood without screening it for HIV and hepatitis.
EDO (health) Dr Abdul Wahab Wadho, in a letter to the managements of around 22 blood banks of the Larkana city, asked them to fill the prescribed forms till July 31.
The recent disclosure about the AIDS cases in Larkana has prompted the local health officials to take the step. Most of the AIDS victims are drug addicts who sell their blood to meet their needs.
TRACTORS: Larkana District Nazim Khursheed Ahmed Junejo here on Wednesday handed over 11 tractors and 110 hand-pushed trolleys to the Nazims of the Larkana, Warah, Ratodero, Shahdadkot, Kambar and Warah Talukas.
