PM briefed on PAF’s preparedness

ISLAMABAD, July 8: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan on Tuesday said that every effort would be made to develop the capability of Pakistan Air Force with a view to maintaining a credible deterrent to aggression.

Mr Jamali, who was briefed by the PAF officers at the Air Headquarters Chaklala on Tuesday, said national safety and security was of paramount importance, and despite financial constraints the desired level of deterrence would be maintained at all cost.

The PM said the changed international scenario in the context of technological advancement had established supremacy of the air power, “as we have seen this lately in our region.”

“Any nation with advanced air power is going to prevail in future wars,” he said, and added: “Therefore, we would do everything possible to meet all the requirements of our air defence.”

The prime minister appreciated the preparedness of the PAF to meet any challenge, and said it was the high level of its alertness that deterred the adversary from indulging in any misadventure.

Mr Jamali said the PAF was a symbol of national pride, and had always come up to the expectations of the people.

The PAF’s deputy chief, Air Marshal Tanveer Mahmood, presented the geo-strategic analysis of the region, the role of air power, and its effectiveness in the modern-day warfare.
