Man gets death sentence

RAWALPINDI, July 8: One person was handed down capital punishment in a murder case by Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Akram here on Tuesday.

The judge also imposed a Rs100,000 fine on the convict, Abdur Rehman, who would have to undergo another six months of jail term in case of non-payment.

According to the prosecution, the convict had stabbed to death a person, Abid, in the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station for allegedly giving information to the police about his family.
