PESHAWAR, July 3: The NWFP wildlife department has prepared guidelines for effective enforcements of preservation laws at Saiful Malook and Lolusar lakes.

Commenting on the subject Chief Conservator Wildlife NWFP Dr Mumtaz Malik said: “ Soon after the provincial government declared Saiful Malook and Lolusar lakes ‘national parks’, the wildlife department began working on preparation of guidelines for achieving the desired goal of preservation.”

To protect the natural beauty of the two lakes and to preserve the flora and fauna in the area, the provincial government had decided in May to turn the lakes into national parks.

Giving details on the guidelines Mr Mumtaz said the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Wildlife Manshera had been directed to construct two big sign boards at the entrance of the parks on which rules and regulations would be written to guide the tourists.

The department had also decided to recruit 15 additional personnel to enforce rules and regulations, he added.

The properly trained staffers would be called ‘Wildlife Watchers’, he said.

Mr Mumtaz said that the administration would ensure that no solid waste was dropped into the lake.

He said that deforestation in the area was banned and all kinds of hunting had been prohibited.
