MULTAN, July 2: A local court on Wednesday sentenced three drug-pushers, including a woman, to rigorous imprisonment in five cases.

Basti Malook police had in 1998 arrested them and recovered 60 kilogrammes of hashish and 10 kilogrammes of opium from their possession.

Hasan and Husnain, who are brothers, were awarded life imprisonment with Rs100,000 fine on recovery of 40 kg and 15 kg hashish, respectively, from them.

In cases of recovery of 5 kg opium each, they both were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and Rs50,000 fine.

Shazia was awarded seven years imprisonment and Rs50,000 fine on recovery of 5 kg hashish.

The two brothers would face 18 months while the woman six months additional imprisonment in case of default of the fine payment.—APP
