KARACHI, July 2: Two Sindh High Court election tribunals dismissed on Wednesday six election petitions, including one against the MQM (H) MPA from PS-122 (Landhi, Karachi), Yunus Khan.
The petitions were generally found wanting in specific allegations, full particulars of the irregularities alleged and mandatory verification of the documents submitted before the tribunals. The allegations of corrupt and illegal practices levelled by the petitioners were vague and unsubstantiated.
While Justice Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffery dismissed Mirza Qudratullah Beg’s petition against Yunus Khan, Justice Mohammad Sadiq Leghari held five petitions as not maintainable. The petitions were entitled: Hafiz Abdul Shakoor versus Akhtar Hussain Jadoon (PS-89, Karachi-I) Dr Shahbaz Hussain versus Abdullah Murad (PS-127, Karachi) Mir Anwar Ali Talpur versus Dost Mohammad (PS-68, Mirpurkhas-V) Ghulam Hussain Babu versus Syed Manzoor Husain Shah (PS-84, Thatta) and Haji Mohammad Osman Jalbani versus Syed Karim Dino Shah (PS-88, Thatta).
