LAHORE, July 1: Some 45 businessmen will fly from Karachi for New Delhi on Wednesday to attend the two-day third meeting of the Pakistan-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry starting from Monday.

Another 45 businessmen will leave from Karachi on Friday while 36 intend to leave via Wagah the same day to attend the meeting.

“Initially the businessmen planned to leave together by bus as the service was expected to be resumed on Tuesday (July 1),” said a senior Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry official, Mr Jamil Mehboob Magoon. “But we abandoned the plan at the eleventh hour due to the delay in the resumption of the service.”

Mr Magoon said those businessmen who were exempted from obtaining visa for visiting other Saarc countries (under the Saarc Charter) would leave from Wagah.

The 126-member delegation consists of top businessmen, representing different sectors, from all parts of the country.

The delegates are likely to meet Indian ministers during their stay in India.
