LAHORE: Rich tributes were paid to former senator and journalist the late Syed Fasih Iqbal at a reference organised by the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) here on Thursday.
The council announced the Syed Fasih Iqbal Award and urged the government to name an Islamabad road after him.
The sitting was presided over by The Nation Editor-in-Chief Dr Majid Nizami and was attended by a number of newspaper editors and owners.
Mr Nizami and other speakers said Fasih Iqbal was a patriotic politician and an accomplished journalist. He was friendly and contributed a lot for the promotion of newspaper industry in Pakistan. — Staff Reporter
