LAHORE: Rana Umair struck a fine field goal to help Wapda-B earn a 1-1 draw against Army at the Sargodha Hockey Stadium on Monday as three games were decided in the Manzoor Hussain Atif Memorial Hockey Tournament in Sargodha.
Mohammad Imran converted a 13th minute penalty corner to give Army the lead but Rana scored in the 62nd to ensure a share of the points.
Earlier, Navy earned a hard-fought 3-2 victory over PAF while Punjab thrashed Railways 3-0.
Navy were 2-0 down but three goals in the space of 14 second-half minutes helped them mount a superb comeback against PAF.
Asad Aziz scored twice, first in the 54th minute and then in the 65th before Mohammad Asif scored the winner two minutes from time as they stunned PAF who had themselves scored their goals in a seven-minute salvo through Mohammad Shahbaz in the 42nd and Mohammad Fiaz.
Punjab also had a two-goal hero as Rizwan scored in the 19th and 39th minute before Hafiz Shahbaz sealed victory in the 47th against Railways who are playing in a national tournament after almost two decades.
On Sunday, Wapda and Police both won their games by one-goal margins.
Asad Bashir and Aleem Bilal scored for Wapda as they ran out 2-1 winners over National Bank of Pakistan for whom Kashif Shah scored.
Meanwhile, Niaz scored just before the hour mark as Police edged past PAF 1-0.
