PESHAWAR: Relief goods distributed among poor

PESHAWAR, Dec 15: Hero Welfare Organization, Malakand, on Saturday distributed rice, sweets and ghee among the poor people of Union Council, Hero Shah Palo Naw in the Sam Ranizai Tehsil.

In this connection a function was arranged in which convener of the District Assembly, Malakand, Syed Ahmad Ali Shah, was the chief guest.

More than 70 poor dwellers of the Union Council Hero Shah Palo Naw were given tins of ghee, rice bags and packets of sweets as gifts for the coming Eidul Fitr.

Speaking at the function, convener of the District Assembly Syed Ahmad Ali Shah said a viable strategy has been adopted by the district government, Malakand, under which provision of greater facilities would be ensured to the general masses and efforts would be made to solve all the issues in the district.

He said soon after Eidul Fitr work on majority of developmental schemes in Malakand would be started.

He said the devolution plan was basically a plan prepared for the poor people and expressed the hope that after its full implementation, the people would be enabled to get their problems solved on their door steps.

Nazim Union council, Hero Shah, Haji Sabar Sadiq and Karah Hassan also spoke on the occasion and assured full cooperation to the district government in the implementation of its policies.—APP

Peshawar Bureau adds: The Japan Emergency, a Japan-based NGO, in collaboration with a local NGO, Human Rights International, and the UNHCR will distribute woolies among Afghan orphans on Dec 16 at  Laisa-i- Nijat School (an orphanage), Dalazak Road, Peshawar.   The relief programme aims at helping and enabling poor Afghans to survive during the coming winter, says a Press release issued here on Friday.
