ISLAMABAD: Over 67pc pass FBISE exams

ISLAMABAD, June 28: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Saturday announced the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-I annual examinations with a pass percentage of 67.69.

As many as 33,459 students passed all subjects out of a total of 49,431 who appeared in the examinations held in March.

As many as 15,124 students appeared from the federal capital, out of which 8,897 passed.

According to the result gazette, out of a total of 49,431 candidates, 46,314 appeared as regular students.

From the Punjab, 21,620 candidates took the examinations out of which 15,321 passed, while from Sindh, 1,976 appeared in the exams and 1,461 passed. In the NWFP, out of a total of 3,848 students, 2,877 passed the examinations, while from Balochistan, 485 passed from a total of 822 students. Similarly, 1,009 appeared from Azad Kashmir and 727 students passed.

From the overseas, 3,577 passed from a total of 4,917 students who took the examinations.

In the science group, the total number of regular students was 37,253 out of which 24,013 were boys and 13,240 girls. Similarly, in the general group, 9,061 students appeared out of which 1,140 were boys and 7,921 girls.

Among the private candidates in the science group, 1,799 students passed. In the federal capital area, the number of boys who appeared in the examinations was 7,601 out of which 4,099 passed, while 4,798 girls passed out of a total of 7,523.

The FBISE has announced that the candidates who have failed in one or more papers can re-appear in the same subject along with the papers of SSC Part-II annual examinations 2004.

The board said it would receive applications for re-checking of papers till July 28 (within 30 days of the declaration of result).

This year, the total number of unfair means cases reported was eight, out of which two were from Islamabad. The FBISE said a procedure was adopted to decide cases and personal hearing was allowed to every candidate.
