COLOMBO, June 26: Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India will compete in a new annual ‘A’ team triangular tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) announced on Thursday.

The seven-match event will rotate between the three countries during the next three years, with the first to be held in Sri Lanka from Aug 15-22.

The tournament forms part of an intensified schedule for Sri Lanka’s ‘A’ team, which also includes 14 planned tours from Sept 2003 to Feb 2005.

Emerging Trophy schedule:

Aug 15: Pakistan v Sri Lanka.

Aug 16: India v Sri Lanka.

Aug 17: India v Pakistan.

Aug 18: Pakistan v Sri Lanka.

Aug 19: India v Sri Lanka

Aug 20: India v Pakistan

Aug 22: Final.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ tour schedule:

Sept/Oct 2003: South Africa (away).

Nov/Dec 2003: India (away).

Jan/Feb 2004: Zimbabwe (away).

March/April 2004: New Zealand (away).
