HYDERABAD, June 26: A team of the Taluka municipal administration, Latifabad, led by the Taluka Nazim, Abdul Jabbar Khan, raided various areas of Unit No2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12, American Quarters, Hali Road, and SITE area and confiscated 30 maunds of unhygienic meat from different butchers.
The operation against the “pressure meat sellers” was launched at 2am which continued upto 10am on Thursday.
Later, the confiscated meat was sent to the Rani Bagh Zoo for animals.
The Taluka Nazimdul has warned the meat sellers that the campaign against the sale of pressure meat would continue to its logical end.
He said, no one will be allowed to play with the health of the people.
It may be pointed out here that a large number of butchers usually slaughter the animals at their homes instead of the slaughterhouse without inspection of the health officials of the Taluka municipal administration. In the majority of the cases, the meat is unhygienic and germ-infected.
The members of the team comprised the TMO, Latifabad, Abdul Majeed Rajput, Faiz Khan, and Mohammad Rais Arain, and the anti-encroachment, health and meat section.
DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES: The district coordination officer, Hyderabad, Mukhtar Ahmed Aziz, here on Thursday directed all the nation-building departments to submit progress of their development schemes in detail by July 7, so that the pace of development work could be expedited.
He directed this while presiding over a meeting regarding development schemes at his office.
He further directed that the development funds released for financial year 2002-2003 should be utilized by June 30 and it should be ensured that targets of development works are achieved.
He informed the meeting that the planning and development department, Government of Sindh, in collaboration with other technical agencies, would pay surprise visits to different development schemes to ensure transparency in development works.
He said that the impact of development works should be visible and satisfactory. He also emphasized the need for close coordination between different development agencies so that duplication or inconvenience to the general public is avoided.
He directed that the feasibility report of the schemes recommended by assembly members should be prepared within the shortest possible time so that work on these schemes could be started.
The EDO Works, Habib Rehman Memon, the EDO Finance, Syed Sikandar Shah, the EDO Planning and Development, Syed Mohammad Juman Shah, the EDO Health, Ashraf Bhurgari, the project director, HDA, Syed Qurban Ali Shah, and other officers of the district government attended the meeting.
ZAKAT FUND: Rs65 lac will be distributed among 500 Mustehkeens of Kotri Taluka through cross cheques on June 29 at 10am at the Community Hall of Kotri site area.
The Taluka Zakat Committee, Chairman, Raza Mohammad Sahto, said this on Thursday. Dr Irfan Gul Magsi is supervizing the distribution of cheques.
