LAHORE, June 25: The City District Government on Wednesday established a control room for receiving complaints against violations of ban on kite flying and related business besides arranging necessary action by police.
District Nazim Mian Amer met the Lahore Electricity Supply Company chief executive Brig Riaz Toor for the establishment of a control room in cooperation with Lesco. He said the control room would receive complaints on UAN 111-000-118 for necessary action under the law. The Kite Flying Association had assured support to the CDG in the campaign aimed at making kite flying a safe sport, he said.
He said the city government was determined to enforce the three-month ban on kite flying and related business and make it safe for the people. Three teams comprising Lesco, police and CDG officials had been constituted in every Lesco sub-division to nab the violators.
He appealed to people to cooperate with the CDG in its efforts to curb the use of metal and chemical string for kite flying. He said teachers and parents should also educate the children about the dangers involved in the use of metal and chemical string for kite flying.— Reporter
