HYDERABAD, June 25: The Employees’ Supreme Council, Sui Southern Gas Company, has appealed to the Supreme Court to implement its orders regarding reinstatement of sacked employees of the company.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the press secretary for the council, Ghulam Rasool Memon, said a Supreme Court bench in the review petition of Aijaz Ali Mugheri and others had issued orders on May 2 to reinstate 99 SSGC employees on permanent basis. He said the apex court had directed that the employees should be should be paid their dues and their seniority be restored.
Mr Memon regretted that the SSGC had not implemented the court order despite the lapse of 40 days, saying that it was tantamount to contempt of court.
Arrest slammed: The Pakistan Muslim League-N has condemned the arrest of its Moro chapter president, Abdus Sattar Mughal.
In a joint statement issued here on Tuesday, Sindh PML-N’s labour wing president Mohammad Afzal Gujjar and Sindh Muslim Students Federation president Roshan Baloch criticized the SHO and the TPO of Naushahro Feroze for arresting Mr Mughal.
They demanded that the Sindh IGP should take notice of excesses of the police and suspend the two police officers.
