Badin district govt budget presented

BADIN, June 24: The district government Badin on Tuesday presented a Rs1,461.033 million budget for the financial year 2003-04.

Finance Committee Chairman Khalil Ahmed Bhurgari presented the budget at the district council’s session which was presided over by its convener Sohail Akbar Baig.

Out of the total budgetary allocations, Rs212.3 million had been earmarked for development schemes, while a huge amount of Rs1,248.733 million had been set for non-development expenditures.

Speaking on the occasion, Finance Committee Chairman Khalil Ahmed Bhurgari said he was not aware of the income and expenditure figures of the district government, as he had merely placed the copy of the budget before the house which was not prepared by him.

The convener, Mirza Sohail Akbar Baig, told the session that the details of income and expenditures would be presented during the next two days.

In his speech, the district Nazim of Badin, Kamal Khan Chang, disclosed that the budget figures also included expenditures under the head of KPP phase-IV, sugar cess and salary budget allocated by the government.
