LANDI KOTAL, June 23: Member of the National Assembly from the Khyber Agency Allama Noorul Haq Qadri and Senator Hafiz Abdul Malik on Monday threatened to withdraw their support to the federal government if the Centre did not honour its commitments made prior to the formation of government, were not fulfilled.
Both the legislators were speaking to a gathering of tribal elders belonging to the Zakhakhel, Mulagori, Kukikhel and Shinwari tribes at Darbar-i-Aalia Hazrat Sheikh Gul here.
Expressing annoyance over the attitude of the Khyber Agency’s political Administration, Allama Qadri said that the political administration had compounded the people’s problems instead of solving them.
Accusing officials of the political agent of corruption, he said that development projects were openly “sold” to the people who offered the right percentage cuts.
Senator Hafiz Abdul Malik urged the government to take stern action against officials of Khyber political administration.
Tribal elders also warned of boycotting the political administration and handing back all their official perks and privileges if action was not taken against the Khyber authorities.
They include Malikzada Mohammad Younus Zakhakhel, Malik Abdul Manan Mulagori, Malikzada Jaffar Khan Zakhakhel, Malik Abdur Raziq, Malik Abu Saeed Shinwari, Malik Jaffar Shinwari and Malik Raza Khan Shinwari.
