Ban on arms, pillion-riding

KARACHI: The Sindh government on Friday imposed a ban on pillion-riding and carrying of weapons in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and Larkana for five days to ensure security on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, a senior official said.

The official added that cellphone services might be suspended on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal.

A notification issued by the home department stated that the ban on pillion-riding had been imposed starting from the midnight of Friday and Saturday and it would remain in force till Jan 15.

Similarly, during these days carrying and exhibiting of weapons would not be allowed as the authorities have cancelled special permits to carry arms till Jan 15.
