MIRPURKHAS, June 23: A large number of people held demonstrations in Hirabad, Lalchandabad, Pak Colony and Mehmoodabad here on Monday to protest against shortage of water in their areas.

The protesters, including women and children, raised slogans against the taluka municipal administration (TMA) and demanded immediate supply of water.

Talking to journalists, the residents said many areas of the Mirpurkhas city had not been supplied with water for a week, compelling people to get water from hand pumps and nearby distributaries.
