Bandit wanted in 20 cases arrested

KHAIRPUR, Dec 14: Khairpur police claimed to have arrested dacoit Ghulam Rasool alias Rasoolo Sandelo on Friday when he was going to his village Ahmedpur for celebrating Eid.

According to a press release issued by the SSP of Khairpur, on a tip off the Khairpur CIA police party surrounded Pir Hoti Noti area and arrested Rasoolo, said to be the cousin of notorious bandit Ibrahim Sandelo.

The police recovered one gun and a bag of cartridges from his possession.

It has been recommended to Sindh government to fix a prize of Rs500,000 for the arrest of Ghulam Rasool.

According to police record, he was wanted in more than 20 cases of murder, kidnapping, and robbery registered at eight police stations of Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Larkana and Khairpur districts.

ROBBERY: About five unidentified armed men late Thursday night robbed some passers by of cash and valuables worth thousands of rupees in the jurisdiction of Setharja police station, taluka Thari Mirwah.

The armed robbers blocked the way and held the passers by hostage. They deprived them of thousands of rupees in cash, gold rings and lockets, wrist watches and other valuables bought for Eid.

The robbers also tortured some of the passers by.

JUDGE: The first judicial magistrate of Khairpur, Niaz Ahmed Dahar, has paid surprise visits to various places of taluka Khairpur and Kot Diji and carried out summary trials.

He fined several shopkeepers on the spot.
