PESHAWAR, June 20: Administrative secretaries to the NWFP government were finding it difficult to do correspondence in the province’s official language Urdu, the new Chief Secretary, Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi was told here on Friday.
According to an official statement, the chief secretary ordered the secretaries to make efforts to follow the provincial government’s orders. He said the institutional decline needed to be checked. The bureaucracy which was placed in a responsible position had to play its active role in controlling the decline, he said.
He said rules and regulations aimed at solving the problems of the people should be positively interpreted. Regarding postings and transfers, he said that bureaucrats should professionally examine all cases and ensure that rights of the people were not violated.
