PESHAWAR, June 19: The NWFP assembly on Thursday withdrew a privilege motion, which it had earlier passed against custom officials.

The motion, moved by MPA Sardar Inayatullah Khan Gandapur, against some custom officials, who had misbehaved with his son, MPA Sardar Israrullah Gandapur.

On Thursday, Sardar Inayatullah informed the house that the custom officials had approached him and apologised for the mistake and had requested him to withdraw the motion.

Gandapur said that since the motion had been passed, he would withdraw it after getting the consent of his colleagues in the assembly. The Speaker then sought the approval of members in this regard.—APP
