LAHORE, June 18: The Kashmir Action Committee, Pakistan, has taken strong exception to MQM chief Altaf Husain’s statement of making LoC permanent border.
The KACP working committee, in a resolution passed on Wednesday, said Altaf Husain’s proposal would serve the Indian interest as such a situation would give India a complete control over major part of the Jammu and Kashmir and all rivers flowing into Pakistan.
It said the people of Kashmir had demonstrated by rendering sacrifices their resolve to undo the unrealistic dividing line and to exercise their right to self-determination as guaranteed by the UN through its resolutions.
The resolution also condemned the fresh wave of state terrorism in Kashmir since April 18 last when Indian Prime Minister Vajpayee had made an offer to Pakistan for a peaceful solution to the issue.
It said about a dozen of Kashmiri youth were being killed daily by Indian security forces in fake encounters, ambushes and in custody. The committee appealed to the world leaders to take steps to save the people of Kashmir from such a planned massacre. — Reporter
