Corruption convict set free

QUETTA, June 17: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court on Tuesday suspended the remaining imprisonment of an appellant convicted by an accountability court in a corruption reference.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani, ordered the release of Sikandar Khan after a medical board confirmed that the convict was a serious diabetic.

The man was awarded 10 years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs5 million after the prosecution proved the charges in the corruption reference.
