HYDERABAD, Oct 3: The Sindh Committee, Communist Party of Pakistan, has demanded that the movement of Afghan refugees should be restricted to refugee camps which should be established near the Afghanistan border and they should not be allowed to spread throughout the country. It also demanded that all the expenses of the refugees should be borne by the United Nations.
These demands were raised at the concluding session of the two-day meeting of the provincial committee held at the party secretariat, Nasim Nagar, Qasimabad, on Wednesday.
Comrade Imdad Kazi presided over the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Comrade Kazi said that whichever group had committed terrorism in America, it had provided an excuse to the imperialist forces to “enforce the capitalist system throughout the world”.
He said the Communist Party of Pakistan not only condemns individual or group terrorism but it also condemns any army action by any state.
He said that taking advantage of the prevailing situation, America was trying to terrorize the whole world.
He said that Gen Pervez Musharraf had become a party and by allowing the American army to enter Pakistan, he had created a civil war and anarchic conditions in Pakistan.
Comrade Kazi urged the people of Pakistan to protest against the decision of the rulers. He also condemned those political parties which had expressed solidarity with President Gen Pervez Musharraf, and added that the extremist Islamic groups who were inciting and instigating demonstrations in favour of Mullah Muhammad Umer and Osama Bin Laden were also trying to foment civil war in Pakistan like Afghanistan. “These forces must be checked.”
He called upon the working class of Pakistan to emulate the workers of the world and accelerate the pace of their struggle against the dangerous conditions of the World Bank and the IMF such as de-nationalization, massive unemployment, and price hike.
The provincial committee decided to hold seminars in various cities to enlighten the people about the present situation.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh and demanded of the government to take necessary steps regarding it.
