UNITED NATIONS, Feb 28: Pakistan on Thursday reaffirmed its policy of “utmost restraint and responsibility and commitment to seek peace with India on the basis of final settlement of the unresolved Kashmir dispute.”
In a meeting with the President of the UN Security Council, Ambassador Adolofo Zinser of Mexico, Pakistan’s Ambassador Shamshad Ahmad briefed him on the current regional situation in the context of heightened tensions as a result of India’s continued military build up along the Pakistan border and its provocative moves in recent months.
Shamshad Ahmad also reviewed with the president of the Security Council the situation in Afghanistan and reiterated Pakistan’s support to the Bonn process and its implementation under the auspices of the United Nations.
