KARACHI, June 10: The judicial magistrate, East, Zahida Perveen, acquitted on Tuesday a worker of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba in the murder case of Azhar Musa, son of General Musa.

The son of the general was murdered in 1997 within the limits of Jamshed Quarters police.

Osama Khan, who was arrested late last month, was acquitted in the case on an application of the police under section 169 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

REMANDED: The judicial magistrate, West, Inayatullah Kundar, remanded three suspects in the murder case of Nazeer Hussain, a mason, to police custody.

The murder of the mason sparked violence in Orangi where angry protesters surrounded town nazim office, Orangi Extension police station, lit bonfire, and blocked the vehicular traffic in Orangi Town on Tuesday in protest against land mafia.

The magistrate remanded Ameerullah Khan alias Musa, Shahzad alias Fauji and Basheer to the police custody for interrogation till June 16.

Orangi Town Nazim, Shahid Alam, better known as Guddo Bihari, and Nadeem were shown absconding accused in the murder case.
