Hangu drone FIR PTI to hold ‘vital’ meeting today

LAHORE, Nov 26: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said his party will be holding a crucial meeting on FIR of Hangu drone strike on Wednesday (today).

Mr Khan was speaking to media persons after offering fateha for the departed souls of PTI Lahore president Abdul Aleem Khan’s mother and maternal aunt on Tuesday.

He said the federal government was constitutionally bound to safeguard its citizens against drone attacks.

The PTI was only reminding the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz of its promises regarding stopping drone attacks and Nato supplies, he added.

Mr Khan said the National Accountability Bureau chairman was controversial and had been offered the post after a ‘deal’.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has accused the federal government of resorting to discrimination against KP and its residents.

Speaking to media persons after KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak’s father-in-law’s funeral on Tuesday, Mr Qaiser stressed that drone attacks must be stopped.

Stating that the Tehreek-i-Insaf had recorded its protest against the drone attacks, he said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would forward Hangu drone attack FIR case to the Foreign Ministry after seeking a legal opinion.
