PESHAWAR, June 9: Two members of an inter-provincial gang of robbers were arrested here, police sources said on Monday.
Working on a tip-off, the city police team nabbed Naikamal Khan from Chowk Yadgar. After his interrogation, the police also held his accomplice, Gul Hussain, a resident of Parachinar (Kurram Agency) from Karachi.
During the interrogation, both the accused confessed to committing more than 32 robberies in Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore and Quetta, the SSP said.
He added that Naikamal and Gul Hussain were also involved, along with three other of their accomplices, in a bank robbery at Chowk Yadgar about 45 days ago.
During the robbery a constable on duty, Saifoor, was killed and a private security guard, Walayat Shah, got injured. They had also disclosed the names of three others involved in the dacoity, who would be soon arrested, Mr Khalid Habib asserted.
The two disclosed that they had established a transport business in Karachi on the basis of looted money.
Meanwhile, the city police have arrested four alleged killers of two cops, the SSP maintained.
Two police officials of Mathra police station — SHO investigation Shah Wali and SI Zarghon Shah — were killed by four highwaymen on April 24.
Those arrested are: Himat and Lajbar, sons of Ayub; Nawaz, son of Mohammad Zaman and Gulab Sher, son of Nadir Sher.
