PESHAWAR, June 6: The speakers at a training workshop urged upon the law enforcement agencies to implement the Juvenile Justice System Ordinance, 2000 in order to safeguard the rights of children.
The three-day workshop on human rights with special emphasis on children was organized by the regional directorate of Human Rights, ministry of law, justice and human rights, representing all the police stations of the city. Save the Children, a Swedish NGO, also assisted the workshop.
The workshop concluded on Thursday.
Project director Mashood Ahmad Mirza called upon the participating police officials to help the masses in realising their rights by implementing the laws enacted for the purpose.
He urged upon the concerned authorities to pay heed to the genuine problems of the police.
