BADIN, June 6: The councillors of Union Council Bhughra Memon, Badin Taluka, have accused their Nazim, Haji Abdul Rehman Mallah, of misusing funds, allocated for the union council and called for an inquiry into the matter.

At a joint press conference on Friday, Mohammad Usman Mandhro, Mohammad Bachal Shaikh, Mohammad Mithan Mallah and others alleged that only one meeting of the union council was held during the last 24 months and bogus record was prepared for showing other so-called meetings of the union council.

They said that on their complaints, the district support officer, local government, Fayaz Hussain Chandio, had taken away the record of the union council, and added that the union council Nazim was not maintaining the office of the union council.

They further said that Rs100,000 had been utilized for purchasing hand-pumps, whereas this amount was to be spent for the construction of the office.

They charged that the union council Nazim had been drawing rent of the office despite the fact that the office was established in the autaq of the Nazim.
