HYDERABAD, Oct 18: Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Minister Jam Khan Shoro has said that during the past government an agreement of $29 million was signed with China due to efforts of the then President Asif Ali Zardari but the present federal government is ignoring the project.

He said this while talking to journalists at his residence after meeting people on Eid day.

He stated that some elements were trying to create hurdles in the complete implementation of 18th amendment, but the PPP would not let them succeed.

He said that under the 18th amendment it was the provincial government which had right over the Korangi Fish Harbour Authority but the federal government was avoiding handing over the authority to Sindh.

He said that this issue would be taken up in the meeting of Council of Common Interests.

He said youth would be provided jobs on merit and incomplete development projects would be completed on time.

He said young leadership of the PPP would serve people and resolve their problems under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Not only new projects would be started, but incomplete projects would be completed on time, he added.

He claimed that the Sindh government was taking initiatives to restore peace and its performance had been outstanding which led to improvement in situation in Karachi.

The police and Rangers were given free hand for maintenance of law and order in Karachi so that crime and terrorism could be eliminated, he added.The PPP had always protected rights of Sindh and it would raise voice at all forums to get Sindh’s 50 per cent share in oil and gas production from federal government under the 18th amendment, he added.

He disclosed that the federal government had been approached for the release of fishermen imprisoned in India, but the federal government had not shown seriousness in this regard.

He said that federation was required to take measures to resolve problems of smaller provinces to strengthen the federation.
