KARACHI, June 3: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal chief Allama Shah Ahmad Noorani has warned against usurping powers of the MMA government in the NWFP in the cover of administrative measures and said such a conspiracy would be foiled.

He said with the passage of the Sharia Bill, conspiracies were being hatched against the NWFP government which were a challenge to the Islam-loving people in the country, and was a proof that if Islam and democracy are introduced with consensus here, even then it is not acceptable to certain elements.

Allama Noorani was talking to a delegation of the MMA Karachi leaders, MNAs and MPAs who called on him in the office of the World Islamic Mission to congratulate the MMA chief and offer sweets on the adoption of the Sharia Bill unanimously by the NWFP Assembly.

The delegation was led by Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, other members of the delegation included Abdul Sattar Afghani, Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, Nasrullah Shaji, Yunus Barai, Hameedullah Khan, Sarfraz Ahmad, Obaidullah Qaderi, Majeed Noorani and others.

He reiterated the stand of the joint opposition over Legal Framework Order (LFO), saying the supremacy of an individual over the Parliament would not be acceptable.

Speaking about the on-going struggle against the LFO, Allama Noorani said: “We are striving to break the vicious circle of US-dominance and interference in Pakistan”, he added.

The MMA chief said the people of the country deserved greetings on the adoption of the Sharia Bill unanimously in the NWFP.
