DERA GHAZI KHAN, Oct 8: Members of Ladi gang late on Tuesday night snatched registration books of more than 50 vehicles on Cement Factory Road in protest against joint operation of law-enforcement agencies at their hideouts in tribal area on Monday night.

The operation had been launched to arrest killers of two police officers.

On the other hand, truckers who lost registration books blocked Indus Highway in protest against ineptness of police.

Following the killing of two police officers in an encounter with highwaymen on Monday night, law-enforcement agencies on Tuesday launched a joint operation in tribal area and raided hideouts of outlaws in Sapaito vicinity.

The outlaws managed their escape. In reaction to police raid on their houses, members of Ladi gang snatched registration copies from truckers and drivers of private vehicles.

They have threatened to launch rocket attacks on vehicles on Cement Factory Road if the operation was not stopped.

Truckers blocked Indus highway and demanded recovery of their registration books and safety on road. The blockade continued till the filing of the report at 11:30pm. — Correspondent
