MANSEHRA, Dec 12: The Oghi Tehsil budget of Rs13.2 million for the year 2001-2002 was presented the other day by Naib Nazim Khwaja Mohammad Tanouli.
An estimated Rs3 million income is shown in the budget, of which Rs1.7 million is projected to come in the shape of taxes for municipal services.
Naib Nazim Khwaja Mohammad said Oghi was a backward tehsil and “we will do our utmost to generate income without burdening the public with taxes.”
He said Rs8.6 million had been allocated for the developmental works and Rs2.19 million set aside for the non-developmental works. This included the salaries of the employees.
A sum of Rs1.18 has been allocated for administrative expenditure.
The total expenditure on salaries and administrative setup is projected at Rs3.3 million, he said.
A deficit of Rs1.79 million will be covered through local funds while Rs1.5 million would be met with official grant.
He said that each union council will be paid a sum of Rs8,999 from the zila tax and the developmental expenditure will be met through official grants.
The tehsil council is due to start debate on the budget on Thursday.
