KARACHI, Sept 19: The administrator of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has said that construction work on Gulshan-i-Jinnah (also described as Polo Ground) has been completed and renovation works will also be completed in a next few days.

The administrator, Saqib Ahmed Soomro, said this during a visit to the Polo Ground, said a statement issued here on Thursday.

He said that this park built on 20 acres was being reconstructed at the cost of Rs170 million.

The administrator was accompanied by director general of parks Abdullah Mushtaq, the project director, the chief engineer and other officers.

The administrator said that thousands of saplings were being planted in the Polo Ground and such species of saplings and trees were being introduced which would in flower throughout the year.

He said that the central gate having historical importance was also constructed in the park which would be compatible with the architectural style of neighbouring country China. Boundary walls were being reconstructed in the same style, he added.—APP
