QUETTA, Sept 8: Two policemen, a truck driver and a cleaner were killed and 12 people were injured in a bomb blast in Quetta, firing at a police patrol in Loralai and a landmine explosion in Sui on Sunday.
According to police, the driver and cleaner were killed and seven people injured when a bomb placed on a bicycle left between two trucks parked near the Government Degree College in Sariab area of Quetta exploded.
According to police officer Bashir Brohi, the bomb was detonated by remote control.
The blast damaged both the trucks and triggered panic among people.
“Around 7kg of explosives was used in the blast,” DIG (Investigation) Mobin Ahmed said.
In Loralai, Head Constable Rehmatullah and Constable Rozee Khan were killed and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ziauddin severely injured when they came under fire near Zangiwal bridge. Police took the bodies and the injured to the district hospital.
The assailants escaped after the attack.
Meanwhile, three children and a man were injured when a landmine exploded in RD298 area of Sui tehsil. Police said the mine planted on a road exploded when one of the victims stepped on it. They were taken to the Dera Allahyar District Hospital.
