KARACHI, May 27: Three ships carrying containers and high speed diesel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Kota Wajar, Shirvan to unload and load containers and to offload crude oil respectively and Sham Rockstar, to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of five.

The departing ships, included Sima Bahar, X-Press Kailash, Izumo, Kota Wajar and Kaghan, while LT. Grand, Shirvan, Sham Rockstar and Banglar Mamata are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.104m tons comprising 23,979 tons of export cargo and 79,563 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Northern Anvil, with 52,000 tons of high speed diesel, Hyundai Sprinter and Al-Ihsaa, with containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, May 27: A cargo volume of 30,261 tons comprising 20,673 tons of import cargo and 9,588 tons of export cargo was handled during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Berthing activity remained slow as only one ship Contship Innovator to unload containers was berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT).

On sailing side only two ships, Jipro Dream and Bunga Melati-6 departed, while Thor Sofia was awaiting berth at the outer anchorage.
