QUETTA, May 11: Balochistan National Party-Awami (BNP-A) Secretary General Mir Asadullah Baloch said on Saturday that his party would not accept election results in protest against “massive rigging”.
Speaking at a press conference, he said there was no polling staff in 45 out of the 72 polling stations in Panjgur area. “It was a joke and not an election.”
Mr Baloch, a candidate for the provincial assembly seats of PB-42 and PB-43 (Panjgur), alleged that supporters of his opponents had “occupied” many polling stations and cast bogus votes.
He alleged that the establishment and other “elements” had spoiled the plan for a free, fair and transparent election in Panjgur by supporting the National Party (NP).
He appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan and its Balochistan chapter to take action against returning officers and the NP leaders “involved in rigging”.
